A timber of 150mm x 345mm is classified as 50% stress grade unseasoned Narra with a moisture content of greater than 19%. It is subjected to a highest temperature of 39 degrees Celsius at dry condition. The beam is proven UNSAFE, adjust and recommend any design remedy that can carry the same load. Check the safety of the beam for Flexural Stress, Shearing Stress and Bearing Stress by using your recommended adjustments. REMEMBER: The shear and moment diagrams must be properly illustrated: where the shear diagram is generated from the loadings of the beam and the moment diagram is generated from the shear diagram, with corresponding computations of values.
