1. (20 marks) A fair dice is tossed 20 times. Use the central limit theorem to bound the probability that the total number of dots is between 60 and 80.
2. (15 marks) An engineer believes that the best model for the time between breakdowns of a generator is the exponential distribution f(x) = le-dz, 120, with a mean (1/2 value) of 16 days. Assume this is true. If the generator has just broken down, been repaired and returned to service, what is the probability that it will operate for 20 days or more without a breakdown?
