Problem 1 (35 points) A simply supported beam is subjected to a concentrated load, shown in Figure I. The beam has a rectangular cross section, shown in Figure 2. The moment of inertia of the beam with respect to the neutral axis is (1/12)(width depth/3. (1) Draw the shear diagram, and find the maximum shear and its location.
