Q1. A continuous beam is shown in Figure Q1. The beam has a fixed support at point “A” and two roller supports at point “B” and “C”. The beam is loaded by a uniform load on span “AB” with the intensity of 20 kN/m and a point load on span "BC" with the intensity of 35 kN. The modulus of elasticity “E" for beams in both spans is equals to 200GPa. The second moment of area “L’equals to 2000 cm* for both spans. Support C settles 20mm downward. By using slope deflection method analyze the beam and answer the following questions: (50 marks) (5 marks) (25 marks) 1) Determine the degree of indeterminacy of the beam. 2) Determine the support reactions of the beam 3) Draw the shear force diagram for the beam 4) Draw the bending moment diagram for the beam (10 marks) (10 marks) 35 kN 20 kN/m EI 2EI A с B 5m 3m 4m FIGURE 01
