Problem 2: Design a strap footing support an exterior column 40 x 40 cm carrying load of P.=785kN and an interior column 40 x 60cm carrying load of Pz=1420KN. The distance between columns center to center is equal to 5m as shown in Figure 2. Outside edge of footing is not allowed to project beyond the outside face of exterior column.
