You are asked to design the structural aspect of a long,
fixed-head hollow spun pile in a sand deposit. The soil conditions,
the ultimate load, and the pile preliminary size are provided in
the table below. According to the price list, a pile with lower
ultimate bending moment capacity is less costly than a pile with
higher ultimate bending moment capacity. Determine the most cost
efficient pile from the structural aspect viewpoint for the given
soil conditions and ultimate load (refer to the provided brochure
below).
