Derive the shape functions in the natural coordinate system for the following interpolation function: x = a1 + a2, Figure 3 where &1 = -1 and 2 = 1. Find the value of & for x=2.5 and x = 3.7 given the beginning and end coordinates of the element as x2 =2 and x2 = 4. Find the temperature at x = 2.5 and x = 3.7, given that temperature values at 1 and 2 are 100°C and 80°C, respectively.
