A mechanic operates s small repair shop and compiles a data set
relating to the work he has carried out in the last year. For each
job data is collected on the vehicle type (car,
tractor, van, other), the customer type (private
or commercial). the age of the vehicle (less than
2 years, between 2 and 5 years, more than 5 years) and whether or
not the customer has previously used this
mechanic's services. In relation to the work carried out the
type of the work is noted (engine, body, other),
the total cost of the work and the
time in hours the job took. Customers are invited
to give feedback on their satisfaction with both the quality and
cost of the work (satisfactionQaulity and
satisfactionCost) - grading on a five point scale
from 1 (Very dissatisfied) up to 5 (Very satisfied)
For the regression model
time' = 14 + 53.3 cost + 78.2 ageMoreThanFive - 8.2
ageTwoToFive2
what should the value of cost be to give a predicted response value
for time of 280.5 if the level of age is LessThanTwo?
a.
8
b.
5
c.
11
d.
7
