Sound measurements were measured on both sides of a 9 ft x 8 ft wall that separates two room. The sound pressure level Lp(1) in the 500 Hz 1/3 octave frequency band on the sound source side of the wall was 82 dB. The sound pressure level Lp(z) in the 500 Hz 1/3 octave frequency band on the sound receiver side of the wall was 40 dB. The room constant a in the 1/3 octave frequency band in the sound receiver room was 80 ft. Assume a diffuse sound field existed on both sides of the wall.
