Bending reinforcements are provided as indicated giving uniform ultimate moment resistances 1.2 m, and m. (moment per unit meter width) for the short-span and long-span directions respectively. The same ultimate moment resistances for both hogging and sagging bending are assumed in each spanning direction. (a) (5%) Determine the yield pattern of the slab at ultimate. (b) (20%) Determine the moment resistance m, using the yield-line method. Express m, in terms of the ultimate UDL q.
