A lot size of 20 sets is ordered. Pre- and Post-operation time amounts to 5 min. per pin and 6 min. per block; labor rates are $20/HR and machine usage rates are $30/HR; 2011T3 Aluminum costs $60/20 ft.; and overhead is charged at 100% of direct costs.
6. Calculate and measure the "lead time" for one pin. This is the time for this lathe process PLUS all pre- and post times.
7. Calculate and measure the "lead time" for a block. This the time for this milling process PLUS all pre- and post times .
8. What is the minimum horsepower machine required to manufacture the block if all cuts are made with one pass?
9. How long will it take to manufacture the customer order of 20 sets of pins and blocks ?
