1. One of the well-known issues with rapid Covid tests (as opposed to the various PCR tests) is the rather significant possibility of false positive and also false negative results. It has happened with these rapid tests that individuals have been told that they are free from Covid when in fact they are not or that they have contracted the disease when in fact they are perfectly healthy. Suppose the following information is known about rapid tests. The probability of a positive test result given that the person does not have Covid is 0.15 and the probability of a negative test result given that the person does have Covid is 0.2. Assume that additionally it is known that the probability of a person having Covid and testing positive is 0.3. Determine the following probabilities, a) the probability that a person has Covid given that a negative test result was obtained, and b) the probability that a person does not have Covid given that a positive test result was obtained.
