Problem 2 (33 points) For an FCC single crystal, it is known that its slip system consists of the slip plane (111) and a possible slip direction of [110], [701] or [011]. On the other hand, the slip system of a BCC single crystal consists of the slip plane (170) and a possible slip direction of either [111] or [111]. A single cubic crystal with the critical resolved shear stress of 50 MPa for all slip systems was tested in uniaxial tension. A yield stress of about 143 MPa was obtained at the initial plastic yielding of the single crystal under single slip condition. It is determined the uniaxial tensile loading axis is parallel to the [213] direction of the single crystal. Determine if the single crystal is of the either FCC or BCC type.
