Question 3 (11 marks) A mixer is used to heat water. Liquid water enters the mixer at 60 °C and 15 MPa with a flowrate of 20 kg/s. Vapour enters at 15 MPa and 400 °C. The outlet is a saturated liquid at 14 MPa. a) (7 marks) What is the outlet flowrate (in kg/s)? b) (4 marks) What is the rate of entropy generation (in kJ/K.s) from this process? If you could not answer part (a), assume the outlet flowrate is 45 kg/s.
