The diagram below shows a circular coil of N turns and radius a (green wire). The wire used in making the coil has resistance per unit length R=0.062/m. The coil is connected to the load resistor R, = 302. 20cm Small Separation B O Q R 2 N Now consider the magnetic field B , which exists in a cylindrical region of radius p=20cm and is described by the following expression: (0.004 cos(120x1a. ps 20cm B= 0 ,p> 20cm Where B is in Wb/m². The coil is placed normal to the magnetic field B and centered at the origin, as shown in the figure. The time-varying magnetic field B will generate emf in the coil and thus current and voltage will appear in the load resistor R, connected to the coil. Ignore the resistance of the wire connecting the coil to the load resistor (red wire) and also ignore the emf generated in this wire. In addition, ignore the inductance of the coil. However, you must account for the resistance of the coil. Design Requirements: You are required to design a circuit that satisfies the following conditions: i. The average power absorbed by the load resistor R, should be Play = 4.0W ii. You can select the radius of the coil to be either: 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, or 25 cm. iii. The length / of the wire used to make the coil should be as short as possible. Other Requirements: 1. Show all work in detail including derivation of the necessary equations. No marks for direct expressions. 2. Summarize your results in Table 1 provided below, for all possible options. 3. Make a clear justification for your choice of the final design parameters, and then fill Table 1 summary. 4. Work Alone. You can only discuss the design project with the course instructor, as much as you like. An automatic zero will be given if this rule is violated, and if any two reports are found identical. 5. All sections of the submitted project report must be type written, except for the "derivation of the necessary equations” section, which is optional i.e. it can be hand written or typed.
