As a telecommunication engineer, you are asked to design a suitable AM system that is low in bandwidth, low in total power and high in efficiency. Assume the message signal is Vm (t) = 4 sin 27500kt and the resistance is 30. (a) By using calculation, justify how your proposed AM system could satisfy the design requirements. [7 marks] (b) THREE (3) similar message signals are to be transmitted simultaneously. Suggest a strategy to multiplex those message signals. Present the frequency planning, suitable local oscillator frequencies and your design assumptions. Sketch the block diagram of the proposed system. [8 marks]
