The achievable signal to quantisation noise power ratio (SQNR)
of a DSP system is 61.96 dB using a B-bit ADC. A 2nd order
Butterworth anti-aliasing filter is to be designed for the DSP
system. Determine the minimum value of B. If the corresponding
minimum sampling frequency, Fs , is 30.87 KHz, determine the
cut-off frequency and the level of aliasing error relative to the
signal level at the passband. Include any assumptions you have made
in your calculation. [12 marks]

Note: A 2nd order Butterworth filter has the following characteristic equation: 2n 7-1/2 F HF-[***" H(F)= 1+1 FC , where n=2 and Fc is the cut-off frequency.
