Using the paper provided, draw a 0 diagram (logical data flow
diagram) for the following system.
Write your first and last name on the paper provided to identify
your work.
Do not draw the Context Diagram.
Remember to apply the rules discussed in class and described in
chapter 7.
Remember to distinguish between important and relevant data.
Turn in your sheet of paper with the diagram to the teacher.
Barber Licensing System:
System Activities:
1.When a barber wants a license to operate, the person completes
an application which he/she gives to the office clerk.
The employee visually verifies the document to see if it is
complete. If it is incomplete, it is returned to the
applicant for corrections.
If the document is correct, the clerk enters the verified
application into the computer for the system to create a license
record. This process of creating the license record requires
a license code from the license master file and a training code
from the training master file.
4. After verification, a new license record is produced and
saved in the license master file.
5. This process also produces important new license data
that will be used to generate a receipt that will be given to the
barber along with the license.
6. At the end of the day, the employee runs a program that
generates daily reports that will be submitted to the Board of
Barber Examiners. To produce these reports, license data from
the license master file is needed.
