A new drug (Relaxase) has been developed to combat anxiety. A biological psychologist has been hired to test Relaxase on laboratory rats. Sixty laboratory rats were chosen to test the effects of Relaxase on a measure of anxiety. Twenty rats were randomly chosen to receive an injection of vehicle (no drug). Another 20 rats were randomly chosen to receive a 5mg injection of Relaxase. And the final 20 rats received a 10mg injection of Relaxase. After receiving injections, all 60 rats were tested on the Elevated Plus Maze, which measures anxiety levels in rats by timing how long they will spend in the open-exposed arms (higher scores = less anxiety). The scores for the 3 groups of rats are listed below (in seconds).
