9. Corn soy blend (CSB) is a food product that is usually fortified by adding vitamin C. The mean vitamin C content in CSB should be 35.12 mg. If too little is present, the product will be ineffective. If too much is present, the product may have adverse effects. To check the quality of CSB produced by a factory, 50 CSB products are randomly selected from a product run, the vitamin C content (in mg) are measured and used to test the following hypotheses: HO: the average vitamin content in CSB made by this factory is 35.12 mg. Ha: the average vitamin content in CSB made by this factory is not 35.12 mg. The null hypothesis is not rejected at 5% significance level. This conclusion means: At 5% significance level, we do not have strong sample evidence to conclude that the average vitamin content is not 35 12 mg We are sure that the average vitamin content 35.12 mg. The average vitamin content in CSB made by this factory is less than 35.12 mg Since the null is not rejected we reject the alternative hypothesis
