Metabolic syndrome is a condition in which a patient suffers
from multiple disorders including at least three of the following:
abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, elevated plasma glucose
(potentially due to the lack of insulin release), and low
high-density cholesterol levels. Metabolic syndrome increases
susceptibility for developing cardiovascular disease. If metabolic
syndrome goes untreated, death is a potential risk. Typically, drug
therapies include treatment of each individual disorder that
composes the metabolic syndrome.
Based upon what you know about the autonomic nervous system,
design a drug to treat ONE of the several disorders
associated with metabolic syndrome.
