A survey of US adults found that 65% oppose raising te age for
medicare eligibility. You randomly select 80 US adults and ask them
how they feel about raising the age for Medicare eligibility. Find
the probability that the number who oppose raising the age is at
least 55 US adults. Can you please check my work?
n=80, p = .65, mean is 80 (.65) = 52. standard deviation is the
square root of npq so the square root of 80 times .65 time .35 =
4.266
z = x - u all over standard dev.
P(x is greater than or equal to 55) = (52-55)/4.266 = -.7032
which looked up on the chart and it is .0237. Is this correct?
