The problem is to determine whether the industrial composition
of Plymouth (England) is contingent on location in the city.
For the purposes of the test, the city was divided into two areas:
dockside (adjacent to the harbor) and center (older parts of the
city that are not adjacent to the harbor). The number of
manufacturing establishments employing more than 10 people in each
of these areas was then tabulated, using the following categorical
classification: transport-related, construction-related, textiles
and clothing-related, and miscellaneous.
