Garth James Builders would like to predict the total number of
labor hours spent putting flooring in a house based on the square
footage of the house and the type of flooring. The following data
have been compiled on 10 houses recently built.
a. Develop the least squares estimated regression equation that
relates labor hours to house square footage and type of
flooring.
b. Use the regression equation developed in part (a) to
predict labor hours when the house size is 3350 square feet
and the type of flooring is wood.
This is what I have:
a. y = b0 + b1x1 + b2x2
y = 100.3 + 4.21x1 + 22.64x2
b. y = 100.3 + 4.21(3350) + 22.64(1)
= 14226.44 Labor
