The Department of Parks and Wildlife is managing a large lake in north. It is determined that a healthy diversity of fish in the lake should consist of 10% largest bass, 15% smallmouth bass, 10% striped bass, 10% trout, and 20% catfish. The population has been checked every 6 years since 1952. The caretaker who has been managing the lake since 1970 6 observed that in the past 10 years the lake's temperature has been consistently rising and he worries about the population of trout which are particularly sensitive to high temperature. Last year he took a sample of fish from the lake with the results given in the table below, Test, at the 5% level of significance, whether there is sufficient evidence in the data to conclude that the fish population distribution has shifted. Fish species Fish in Sample Largemouth Bass 14 Smallmouth Bass 49 21 Striped Bass 2 Trout 75 Catfish 141 Other 1. Explain how you choose the proper test 2. Giving the details of HO /H1 3. Give proper DOF and the table value for x = 0.05, DOF 4. The test's calculated value = 55.8. What do you conclude ?
