The following six random samples of students CAT
marks {23,10,20,18,25,18}{23,10,20,18,25,18} were
obtained from STA 305 Probability
programming course. Assuming that the marks were normally
distributed
i.e. X∼N(μ,σ2)X∼N(μ,σ2) where XX represent CAT
marks out of 30. Estimate the
parameters μμ and σ2σ2 . You may use MLE
approach or otherwise.
Select one:
a. mean=21 and sample variance is 28.1
b. mean=20 and sample variance is 29.3
c. mean=19 and sample variance is 27.2
d. mean=19 and sample variance is 26.5
