In chapter 10, we will be solving system of equations. Most of the time, we solve system of linear equations. Algebraically, we discussed three methods from college algebra: method of substitution, method of elimination and and graphical method. In this assignment, we take a look at the first two methods: 2 + 2y 7 Consider the system of linear equations 3.0 y 1 1) With the method of substitution, we use the first equation and solve for x in terms of y. Then solve the system. 2) With the method of substitution, we use the second equation and solve for y in terms of x. Then solve the system. 3) With the method of elimination, we eliminate x by multiplying -3 to the first equation. Then solve the system. 4) With the method of elimination, we eliminate y by multiplying 2 to the second equation. Then solve the system.
