Patient Chart 1: Sarah Smith is a 67-year-old female patient is admitted to the Fundamentals nursing unit with a left lower leg wound infection (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA]) and cellulitis. The primary health care provider prescribes clindamycin to treat the infection. Intravenous catheter (IV) in place in the right hand. There is a new order for central line(PICC) line to be placed at the bedside to prepare client for discharge and home antibiotic therapy.
