(Based on WMS Exercise 2.7) A group of five applicants for a pair of identical jobs consists of three men (M1, M2, M3) and two women (W1, W2). The employer is to select two of the applicants for the jobs. a. List the set S of all possible outcomes for this experiment. (The jobs are identical, so the sample points are sets, not ordered pairs.) b. Let A denote the event "both jobs are filled by men.” List the sample points in A. Let B denote the event "one job is filled by a man and one by a woman.” List the sample points in B. c. Assuming that all sample points are equally likely, find P(A), P(B), and P(AUB). d. Assuming all sample points are equally likely, find the probability that M1 will be hired. e. Now let C be the event "Wį is hired," and suppose it is known that P(C) = 0.7. The other four applicants are all equally likely to be hired. Construct the probability function on S by giving a list of its values on each of the points in the sample space.
