A student wants to estimate the true proportion of students who
have a driver's license in his school.he is able to take a simple
random sample of n = 121 of those college students, and 58 of Those
students have a driver's license .
a) What conditions must hold for the Rowan student to be able to
calculate his confidence interval? Are they true?
b) Find his 90% confidence interval for the true proportion of
students who have a driver's license. Be sure to Either i) Use full
calculator syntax including proper label on your output or ii)
write down the formula, plug in the appropriate numbers, and then
give the calculated interval including a proper label.
c) Assume that the confidence interval in b) was calculated
correctly. Consider each of the following statements, and then
circle TRUE or FALSE.
i) If we take many, many random samples of size n = 121, and for
each correctly calculate a 90% confidence interval, then about 90%
of all of those intervals will contain the true proportion of
students who have a driver's license. TRUE FALSE
(ii) 90% is the probability that the true proportion of students
who have a driver's license is contained in that specific
confidence interval in b). TRUE FALSE
(iii) The true proportion of students who have a driver's
license is contained in that specific confidence interval you
calculated in part b). TRUE FALSE
