A biased coin is tossed one hundred times and is observed to
land with heads facing up 55 times.
a) estimate the probability that it would land with tails facing
up if it were tossed one more time
b) the coin is tossed twice. Draw a labelled probability
tree
C) what is the probability that the coin will land on two tails
in a row when it is tossed twice
d) consider the two events A and B
Event A : the coin will land on the same face when it is tossed
twice
EventB : at least one of the two tosses lands with tails facing
up
i) calculate P(A)
ii) Calculate P(B)
iii) Hence, determine whether the 2 events A and B are
independent
iv) calculate P(B\A)
