(You don't need to turn this in, but when doing problems like this one I highly encourage you to actually draw a picture of the bell curve!) b) Suppose Yı, Y2, Y3, and Y4 are iid random variables with the same distribution as Y, above. Let Y4 = 31-1 Yį. What is PC > 8)? c) Same setup except n=16. What is P(716 > 8)? (If you know Stata use the normal() function.) d) Let X~xło. What is P(X > 32)? Use Stata's chi2 () function and/or check using the table on Stock & Watson, p. 724 (you'll have to be creative with the table, but it's worth trying).
