An epicyclical gear trains (EGTs) system is shown in Fig. 2. The
output axle is the arm connected to compound gear ¾ and there is
another arm to link Gear 7 axle and the axle of the compound gear
8/9. We know some teeth numbers N2 = 16 teeth, N4 = 22 teeth, N5 =
14 teeth, N6 = 15 teeth, N7 = 36 teeth, N8 = 20 teeth.
Find: a) the gear sets existing in the system and the
epicyclical gear trains (EGTs). b) the power flow in this gear
system from input to output. c) the overall gear box ratio. d) the
velocity of the input shaft of Gear 7 if it is expected to have the
output speed, ω2 = 1200 rpm, CW; and e) the output torque assuming
the system has an efficiency of 99%, if the applied input torque is
30 N⋅m.
