Assume Fy = 50 Ksi, Fu=65 Ksi, Ag = 28.2 in?, Aper= 25 inand U (conversion factor for equivant area)=0.85. You need not consider block shear effect. 40Points 2. Find out the gross sectional area of a tension member with the following data: Fy=50 Ksi, Fu=65 Ksi, Dead load = 100 K, Live load = 120 K. The section has 3 bolts of 5/8 in. diameter. Use only ASD approach. Assume t-1/2 in. 30 Points
