The picture below shows a polyomino (a square grid) with 64
squares (all of the same size:
Can we cut the above 64-square polyomino in two pieces with a
single, continuous cut along the edges of the grid such that the
two pieces can be rearranged to form a 64-square checkerboard?
A Hint for problem 2: The cut does not need to be straight. We
can zig-zag, turning our scissors to the right (90 degrees) or to
the left along the grid in a continuous, zig-zag way.
