first or second hand. If you have never had a performance
appraisal, ask a friend or family member to tell you about their
experience with performance appraisals. Tell us (1) a sentence or
two about the type of appraisal (interview, email or mailed letter,
etc.). Then tell us (2) if the appraisal helped you improve (and if
not, why?). And finally, tell us (3) how, if at all, the process
might have been more helpful, in your opinion. Be sure to use text
terms in your answers, such as "deficiency," "unreliability," and
"invalidity."
