3. A theme in our discussion of growth is how GDP growth is
sometimes in tension with other concerns - be they human rights,
environmental sustainability, or equitable distribution of
resources. Discuss the strengths and weakness of GDP (or GDP per
capita more specifically) as a measure of economic well-being. If
you think GDP is a poor measure of economic success, suggest and
explain alternative ways to measure growth and development. A good
answer will be several paragraphs long and identify clear strengths
and weaknesses of GDP as a measure of economic success. (HINT: If
