You may use a calculator and your notes. A lens is located on a stand like we had in lab, and although you can't get an image to form on any screen, when you look through the lens, you can see a butterfly (8 cm tall) on a stand. The image you see when you look through the lens appears larger and farther away than the butterfly itself. a. What kind of image is it, real or virtual? b. What kind of lens is it, converging or diverging? c. If the butterfly is 10 cm from the lens, and the image appears to be 15 cm away from the lens (on the same side as the butterfly, of course), determine the focal distance of the lens. d. Determine the magnification of the image. e. Determine the height of the image of the butterfly. f. Is the image inverted or right side up?
