The diameter of the primary mirror on the JWST is 6.5m and the primary wavelength is in the near infrared (0.1-1.7 μm). (a) What is its maximum angular resolution at its shortest wavelength and at its longest wavelength? (b) What is it's resolving power at each wavelength? (c) Our nearest neighboring star is about 4.2 light years away. Do you think that we would be able to resolve features on the surface of a planet at that distance? Explain.
