An innovator is someone who is willing to try new things in
practice, using evidence, to enhance quality of patient care and to
foster nursing knowledge. It is vital that a nurse is an innovator
because one's practice is ever evolving in the fast-paced world of
health care. Innovators share several characteristics. These
include:
1. Sense of inquiry
2. Flexibility to change
3. Awareness of self
4. Communication skills
