4) You are planning a 1-year campaign to reduce health
consequences due to e-cigarette use among high school students in
the Greater Lowell area. Your Objectives are:
1) At the end of the 1-year campaign, 40% of high school
students in the greater Lowell area will be able to identify at
least three negative consequences of using e-cigarettes. 2) By the
end of the campaign, there will be a 20% decrease in e-cigarette
use among high school students in the Greater Lowell area. How will
you evaluate the outcome of this campaign? An evaluation plan
should be appropriate to assess whether the objectives listed above
are met.
4a) What study design will you use to evaluate whether
objectives are met? (e.g., one group post-only assessment,
randomized controlled trial, etc.) (5 points)
4b) When, how and from whom will you collect data for outcome
evaluation. Data can be collected from members of target audience,
or you can propose to use data from an external source (e.g., DMV
records, police reports, etc.). Timeline of data collection should
be appropriate for these objectives and for the proposed study
design. i.e., mention when exactly the data will be collected
(e.g., two weeks before start of campaign; 1 week after campaign
ends, etc.) Describe how the data will be collected. e.g., if
planning surveys, how will the surveys be conducted (online,
in-person, etc.). How will you recruit individuals to participate
in your survey. (10 points)
4c) What type of data will you collect? Include questions that
will be used for data collection for your evaluation. Your
questions should be related to both objectives mentioned above.
Include the actual questions along with response options in a
format that they will be used in a survey. (10 points)
