(1) (2) (3) 8.1) As we continue with this thought experiment, we find that there are many differences between Bob's and Allice's perspectives! Consider these 6 closed surfaces labeled 1-6 in the diagram, represented by dotted lines, we can draw around each of the sides of the solenoid. Use Gauss's Law, E-dA= enc/Eo, to determine if there is charge located in any of the 4 closed surfaces. For each surface, is the enclosed charge inside it zero, positive, or negative? (You are considering the flux the field perpendicularly through the surface NOT the flow of the field parallel to the surface!) 8.2) Would any of these closed surfaces have any charge inside them in Allice's perspective? 8.3) What is the total electric charge throughout the entire solenoid in Bob's perspective? Is this total value of charge at least consistent with Allice's perspective?
