Pacific University (PU) has 12,500 professors who mentor a total of 40,000 students (each student is mentored by one professor). Of these students, 80 percent are full-time and 20 percent are part-time. The part-time students hold jobs and interact with 3,200 clients through appointments. The database stores employment information for the part-time students and hall/residential information for the full-time students. There are on average 625 accesses per day of professor data. Each client interacts with, on average, 30 part-time students per day. Professors make about 2,000 requests per day to view student information.
