Passwords consist of uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, and any one of 32 special symbols (like # or $). (a) How many 8-character passwords are possible? (b) How many 8-character passwords are possible if only use lowercase letters are used? (c) There are good password-cracking programs out there that can check up to a billion passwords per second. How long would it take the program to search through all 8-character passwords (and hence crack any 8-character password)? Choose either seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, or years to present your answer so that it is most easily understandable. (d) Do the same as part (c) but for passwords consisting of 8 lowercase letters.
