The height of a new point P was determined from four existing benchmarks A, B, C, D by using the levelling survey, see the survey scheme. From the benchmarks with given heights (HA, HB, Hc, Ho) four levelling lines were run with observed height differences: Abe Abge: Ahce and shop to determine the height of the point P. : The accuracy of levelling is given in terms of variances of levelling height differences (OAP², OBP², Ocp² and Opp²). The measurements and variances are summarized in the table. Height of benchmark [m] Height difference [m] variance [cm] HA = 3.549 m AhAp = 3.481 m OAP² = 4 cm Hg = 4.848 m Ahgp = 2.150 m Ogp² = 2 cm Hc=5.791 m Ahcp = 1.201 m Ocp² = 1 cm HD = 5.723 m Ahor = 1.229 m Opp² = 1 cm Apply the parametric least-squares adjustment to compute the height of the point P and its standard deviation.
