1- A hydraulic water pump is intended to increase the water pressure (outlet with respect to inlet). Water enters the pump through a 15 cm inlet and exist the pump from a 12 cm outlet. The volume flow rate through the pump is proportional to shaft rotational frequency and can be determined as: V (m³/s) = 0.02 f (rev/s) If efficiency of the pump is 80% and frequency of the shaft is 600 rpm (rev/min): a) Determine the required power of the shaft to increase the pressure by 500 kPa. b) The required torque on the shaft c) The required power of the shaft if the outlet diameter is the same as the inlet diameter. Density of water is 1000 kg/m³. Outlet m, po, Vo Inlet m, pi, vi D-15 cm D₂=12 cm Shaft Pump
