4. Using the Darcy-Weisbach equation, determine the headloss in a 1000 ft long, commercial steel pipe, 4-inches in diameter, if the flow is 400 gpm. Hint: OK to use FlowMaster to check, but I need to see how you calculated Reynold's number, D/e (or e/D), and what you got for the friction factor "P". Water is at 70° F and the kinematic viscosity, v = 1.059 x 105 ft²/sec. See attached Moody Diagram if you need it. Remember that the formula for Reynolds number on the x-axis of the Moody Diagram is more easily calculated using Re = VD/v.
