An activated sludge tank treats 1.0 MGD from the primary clarifier with the influent water having Xo = 0 and So = 200 mg/L. 0.9 MGD of the water from the secondary clarifier flows out as effluent, while 1.6 MGD flows out as sludge. The BOD concentration leaving the activated sludge tank is 15 ppm.
