A horizontal rigid bar 𝐴𝐢 is supported by two columns with
pinned ends ( 𝐴𝐷 and 𝐡𝐸) at points 𝐴 and 𝐡. A vertical load 𝑃 acts
at the end 𝐢 of the bar. 𝐴𝐷 has the length of 40π‘π‘š and area of 𝐴𝐴𝐷
= 300π‘šπ‘š2 while 𝐡𝐸 has the length of 20π‘π‘š and area of 𝐴𝐡𝐸 = 400π‘šπ‘š2 .
The modulus of elasticity of both sections is 𝐸 = 200πΊπ‘ƒπ‘Ž. The
length of 𝐴𝐡 = 40π‘π‘š and 𝐡𝐢 = 50π‘π‘š as show below:
