3. One way to decrease health care spending in the U.S. is to
reduce use of “low value” health care. For this question, you will
think of examples of low value and high value health care products
or services that we have not specifically covered in class. You do
not need to collect data to support your hypotheses, but you should
think about what the costs and benefits of the product or service
are, and how you would measure its value.
a. Describe a product or service that you believe is low value,
and that we have not already talked about in class. Explain why you
think the product or service is low value.
b. What is a strategy for reducing utilization of this low value
